Seth Godin, one of the marketing thought leaders of our time, has an interesting post today. It’s called ‘Alienating the 2%‘. Great food for thought.
Every time someone introduces something new, about 2% of followers will be really angry about it. As Seth says,
If you have fans or followers or customers, no matter what you do, you’ll annoy or disappoint two percent of them. And you’ll probably hear a lot more from the unhappy 2% than from the delighted 98.
Here at the Healing Codes we are introducing a new site, a new look, a new membership, new features, dumping some old stuff and people are letting us know. We have heard from people who really like the new site but the ones who don’t or can’t or won’t speak LOUDLY.
The 2% rule is not new but it’s timely to be reminded of it as we launch a lot of new features that will really benefit the 98% of our loyal followers.
What do you think about the 2% rule? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment. We will comment back to as many as we can.
